Tunable Filtenna With DGS Loaded Resonators for a Cognitive Radio System Based on an SDR Transceiver

This paper introduces the design of a filtenna for cognitive radio systems. Four varactor diodes, which are inserted in bandpass filter, used to achieve desired tunability. The proposed filter is integrated with wideband monopole antenna. achieved by using two coupled defected ground structure (DGS) resonators and microstrip lines ended stubs. antenna designed operate frequency band from 1.3 GHz 3 GHz. four diodes tune resonance 2.7 2 when capacitance increases 1.55 pF 2.67 pF. performance validated simulation measurements fabricated prototype. Finally, tested Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform bladeRF. transceiver can transmit receive wide range 0.3 up 3.8 GHz, makes it suitable testing reconfigurable filtenna.
